End of Violence

Isaiah 2:4 He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.

Isaiah 5:7 For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are his pleasant planting; and he looked for justice, but behold, bloodshed; for righteousness, but behold, an outcry!

Isaiah 14:30 And the firstborn of the poor will graze, and the needy lie down in safety; but I will kill your [Philistia’s] root with famine, and your remnant it will slay.

Isaiah 59:8-9 The way of peace they do not know, and there is no justice in their paths; they have made their roads crooked; no one who treads on them knows peace. Therefore justice is far from us, and righteousness does not overtake us; we hope for light, and behold, darkness, and for brightness, but we walk in gloom.

Isaiah 60:18 Violence shall no more be heard in your land, devastation or destruction within your borders; you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.

Revelation 11:18 The nations raged, but your wrath came, and the time for the dead to be judged, and for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints, and those who fear your name, both small and great, and for destroying the destroyers of the earth.”

Revelation 18 [The entire chapter is about the immoral city of Babylon which would be destroyed in an hour. In her was found the blood of the righteous and all on the earth (vs. 24). She was violent and was taken out in violence.]

A constant refrain is that the arrogant and proud will be brought low, but the poor and needy will find refuge.

Another side note: One of the woes in Revelation 9 was brought about by a fallen angel named Abaddon in Hebrew and Apollyon in Greek. Abaddon means destruction and Apollyon means destroyer.
